HOUSTON – October 21, 2024 MetroNational, the privately-held real estate investment, development, and management company, is proud to continue to support Spring Branch-Memorial Sports Association (SBMSA), a nonprofit organization that provides children with the facilities and resources needed to grow through sports, through a donation of over $1 million.

“With the donation and support from MetroNational, we will be able to keep up with the increased demands and growth of our youth sports community,” said Billy Newhouse, President SBMSA. “This donation will enable us to enhance our facility’s infrastructure, benefiting our local athletes, families and the community at large.”

“MetroNational’s approach to development and placemaking is inspired by our purpose statement – to build better lives,” said Jason Johnson, President and CEO of MetroNational. “Our philanthropic strategy is no different and we are proud to support SBMSA, a local nonprofit organization that is committed to helping children realize their full potential through sports.”.

Founded in 1961, SBMSA’s structured sports programs help over 9,700 children across seven sports learn valuable life skills such as leadership and sportsmanship. Coaches and staff create a safe atmosphere where children are challenged to compete at their best. SBMSA is committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of their skill level, has the chance to participate and grow.

“By providing a safe and supportive environment, group sports can teach children important leadership skills, nurturing them to become tomorrow’s leaders,” said Caroline H. Bennett, General Manager, SBMSA.
